Tide Network Africa is a grassroots-driven organization founded four years ago with a mission to empower communities through climate education, renewable energy solutions, and sustainable development initiatives. Our work focuses on providing practical solutions to the pressing environmental challenges facing underserved communities in Africa, starting from Nigeria.
We are dedicated to promoting climate action, environmental sustainability, and clean energy initiatives in rural communities.
Contact UsOur journey began with a vision to bridge the gap between grassroots communities and the global climate action movement. Recognizing the need for localized solutions, we started by engaging with rural communities to understand their unique challenges and co-create sustainable strategies. Today, we have successfully implemented impactful projects that demonstrate the power of community-driven climate action.
Our Vision is to lead a transforming course that will result in the emergence of Youths in African communities contextualizing and championing efficient Climate Action for a better and sustainable environment by 2030.
We want to raise grassroot of community leaders in the fight against climate change, thriving with sustainable livelihoods and empowered to protect their environment for generations to come.
Over the years, Tide Network Africa has touched the lives of over 300 individuals through transformative projects in 3 to 4 communities. Some of our key initiatives include:
This project provided clean, sustainable water for domestic and agricultural use, improving health and livelihoods.
Empowering schools and community groups with knowledge on climate change and sustainable practices.
Engaging local communities in ecosystem restoration to combat desertification and enhance biodiversity.
Educating youth and women on solar energy installation and maintenance, creating green jobs and fostering climate resilience.
Implemented community cleanup program in 2 communities, the first is Godongada and second is Apo Wassa.
Over the past three years, we have successfully implemented several projects in rural communities where we went for community sensitization and cleaning project achieving tangible outcomes and making positive difference.
Through our reforestation initiatives, we have engaged local communities in planting native tree species, restoring degraded landscapes, and enhancing biodiversity.
These efforts have contributed to carbon sequestration, soil conservation, and the preservation of vital ecosystem services.
We have facilitated the adoption of clean energy technologies, such as solar panels in rural households and institutions.
By providing access to reliable and sustainable energy sources, we have improved living conditions, reduced indoor air pollution, and supported economic development.
Our projects have focused on improving access to clean water and sanitation facilities in rural areas, promoting hygiene practices, and preventing waterborne diseases.
By partnering with one organisation to construct a solar powered boreholes for a community in Kuje area Abuja, we have enhanced public health outcomes and quality of life for community members.
We have worked with communities to develop climate resilience strategies, including early warning systems, disaster risk reduction plans, and sustainable land management practices.
These initiatives have helped communities adapt to changing climatic conditions, mitigate the impacts of extreme weather events, and build resilience to future challenges.
